i am an animist who watches too much studio ghibli. i feel a deep connection to the roadside shrines depicted in ghibli films and wanted to create something beautiful in south-west england. i often wonder if we once had these roadside shrines too, places to pause and pay homage to something bigger than ourselves, places to honour the forces that shape our world, whatever that means to you.

i feel a lot of respect for trees, mycelium, corals, whales and other long-lived more-than-human ancestors, which is usually what inspires me to make little shrines. but a shrine isnt much without people to visit it, so if you happen to be passing please feel welcomed into this space of quiet and reflection. if you think you are called to offer something, know that it is welcomed
